Ennismore Gardens: Exterior

City Restoration were tasked with renewing and refurbishing an old mansard roof in the prestigious residential area of Knightsbridge. The building was managed by residential property & surveying specialist Faraday Property Management Ltd. Our team knew that some degree of work would be needed due to the age of the property, but it was not clear what would be involved.

The first stage of the project was to assess the roof and determine exactly what needed to be done. Scaffolding was erected and a full survey carried out jointly with both City Restoration and Faraday Property Management. It was agreed that major roofing works were necessary to both the front and rear mansard roofs, to ensure they would remain safe and leak-free well into the future.

A number of different areas across the roof required cold applied liquid waterproofing, while other areas required extensive pitched roof works. Our team also supplied bespoke joinery as needed, manufactured at City Restoration’s in-house workshop in London.

Some weather-related challenges were experienced due to the works being carried out over the winter months. It was also necessary for our team to work discreetly and with respect for local residents in the Knightsbridge area. Despite these challenges, we delivered excellent results within just 16 weeks.
